Welcome, we are the cosy cunning folk

Our story

A little ‘Cunning FOlk’ history

From the Middle Ages until early 20th Century, you could be sure to find one or two ‘cunning folk’ in every British village. Also known as folk healers or hedge witches.

Their expert foraging and cunning craft could help you with everyday aliments, offer protective charms, banish black magic, ease pain, and even attract happiness. Cunning Folk were so named to avoid having them burned as ‘witches’, the state often turning a blind eye to their practices.

However much magic was feared, healers were essential and more in demand than holy men or physicians. Mostly spared from the fate of poor accused witches, cunning folk are weaved into our ancestry. These healers may even still live amongst us . . .
